About

Dr. Mortara grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii where she graduated from the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine. She then came to Southern California and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the St. Mary Medical Center-UCLA program where she was selected as Chief Resident her final year. Dr. Mortara then went on to a Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Harbor-UCLA. She has been in private practice in Long Beach for over 18 years prior to joining MemorialCare Medical Group. She has been honored as as Top Doctor in her field in 1999 and 2010.

Dr. Mortara went into medicine to help people maximize their health potential. An as Internal Medicine physician, she enjoys the investigative nature of medicine and recognizes the importance of looking at the whole person, not focusing on just specific areas of the body. She appreciates the opportunity to build strong patient-physician bonds with her patients and feels honored to have cared for many of her patients for over a decade.

During her career, Dr. Mortara has been a frequently invited speaker on current medical issues, by both the Long Beach community and her medical colleagues. In her spare time, she enjoys photography and writing, as well as agility working and playing with her pet dogs.
