Dr. George P. Panagiotides is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon who specializes in cardiothoracic procedures with Pacific Heart & Lung Surgeons in Lakewood, CA.
Dr. Panagiotides earned his medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC., where he gained much experience in trauma and critical care surgery at the renowned Medstar Center. He completed his residency in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Florida Shand's Hospital where he increased his knowledge and expertise in adult cardiac and pulmonary surgery, as well as cardiac and pulmonary transplantation. Dr. Panagiotides is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery in thoracic and cardiac surgery.
Dr. Panagiotides is experienced in the full spectrum of adult cardiac and pulmonary surgical procedures including coronary artery bypass surgery, open heart valvular surgery (repair and replacement) and thoracic aorta surgery. His clinical interests include innovative techniques of off-pump, beating heart surgery, transmyocardial revascularization and atrial fibrillation surgery. In addition, he is proficient in pulmonary and general thoracic surgery dealing with lung cancer and in using the latest thoracoscopic techniques.
