Dr. Alan Ho is a board certified, fellowship trained anesthesiologist who specializes in pain medicine. Dr. Ho grew up in Cupertino, CA, and earned his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley. Having decided his true passion was treating pain, he went on to complete his medical education at the University of California, San Diego. His outstanding achievements were recognized by many top institutions and he was accepted at the prestigious Columbia University to complete his anesthesiology residency. He then returned to Southern California and completed his pain medicine fellowship at the renowned Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ho has believed that to successfully minimize pain and improve quality of life, it is imperative to understand what the patient is experiencing and to listen to how patients’ lives and functions are being affected in a multifactorial manner. He also believes in empowering his patients by educating them about their conditions. It is not uncommon to see Dr. Ho bringing in models, drawings and electronic resources to help his patients understand their source of pain and treatment options.
Dr. Ho is highly skilled in the most advanced interventional pain procedures. He is committed to bringing these skills to make a difference in our patients’ lives.
