Dr Chay Bae is a rheumatologist with MemorialCare Medical Group who specializes in general and complex rheumatological conditions. He cares for patients with conditions such as gout, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, vasculitis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, IBD-associated arthritis, scleroderma, IgG4-related disease, and idiopathic inflammatory myopathies.
His academic interests include public health, health policy, medical inclusivity and equity. Also, he has completed training in musculoskeletal ultrasound through USSONAR.
Bae earned his medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. This was followed by a residency in internal medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He then completed a fellowship in rheumatology at UC Irvine School of Medicine and the VA Long Beach Healthcare System.
As a physician, he believes in working with the patient to reach their goals through shared decision-making. His mentors before him instilled the belief that caring for patients is a marathon, and not a sprint. He hopes to be a part of your journey in wellness.
Dr Bae grew up in Southern California and in his free time enjoys spending time with family and friends. Some of his hobbies include being outdoors, trying new foods, and tasting different coffees from specialty roasters.
