Brandon A. Ortega, MD is a fellowship-trained, board-eligible spine surgeon who specializes in spine health with the Long Beach Lakewood Orthopedic Institute in Long Beach.His clinical interests include spinal deformity correction, spinal metastatic disease, and spine degenerative conditions and treatments.He received his medical degree from Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California (USC) where he received the Dean’s Research Fellowship award. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Keck School of Medicine of USC, LAC+USC Medical Center and served as co-administrative chief resident. He received the Dean’s Research Fellowship & was awarded the Herman Epstein Award for Clinical Excellence during residency. Dr. Ortega then completed his fellowship in spine surgery at UC Davis Medical Center. He is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (AAOS) and board-eligible in spine surgery.He is a member of the North American Spine Society (NASS) and AO Spine North America, a spine surgeon organization who believe in a patient-first, principle-based and evidence-supported approach to spinal care.
